Welcome to
Malabar Repeater

The dream of establishing a dedicated repeater to serve the Malabar region has been alive since the early days of the Ham Radio Club formed years ago by a small but passionate group of amateurs in Kannur district. That long-held vision has finally taken shape with the installation of the Malabar Repeater on the Ezhimala Hills, standing at an altitude of 768 feet above mean sea level. About Us

The Malabar Repeater (VU2MWW) is the realization of a long-standing vision shared by dedicated Hams in the Kannur region. For many years, the goal has been to establish a robust repeater that could reliably cover the Malabar belt and connect operators across a wide geographical span. That dream finally materialized with the installation of the repeater on Ezhimala Hills, positioned at 768 feet above mean sea level and offering an exceptional coverage footprint.

Thanks to its elevation and strategic location, the repeater can be accessed from areas such as Mangalore, Mysore, Calicut, Wayanad, Palghat, Kodai, and more. Early tests have even shown surprising range, including successful access to distant repeaters under favorable conditions. These results reaffirm the value of strong, dependable radio infrastructure in our region.

It is paired with a Diamond X30A dual-band antenna, a high-gain fiberglass antenna offering excellent performance on both 2m and 70cm. To ensure clean, interference-free operation, we use a Sinctech P201GC-1 four-cavity bandpass duplexer, engineered for high selectivity and precision filtering in the 132–150 MHz range. Every component in the chain is chosen for reliability, performance, and long-term service.
